My Favorite cyclists for 2010 No.5 Sylwester Szmyd
Ten years a pro and an essential cog in the wheel of Liquigas’s Grand Tour attack machine; not to mention a winner on the legendary slopes of the Ventoux, Sylwester is a mean green LIQUIGAS machine who gets very little coverage, but this Polish rider is amazing and one of my favorite riders. Here is a link to his blog and a great interview that PEZ did with him. He rode with Marco Pantani’s Mercatone Uno squad in 2003 and has spend his entire career in Italy and with Italian teams. If everything goes according to plan he will be begin his 2010 season at the Vuelta Catalunya, then Trentino, Romandie, Giro d’Italia, Dauphine Libere, Tour de France and Tour de Pologne. Here is his win on Mont Ventoux, during the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré 2009. Look out for him in the peleton this year and I hope you agree he is a great rider and a essential part to any team.
