SHUTT VELO RAPIDE
Every once in a while I discover a product or a company and curse myself for not knowing about them before. SHUTT VELO RAPIDE jerseys and cycling clothes are just that kind of company. Making a small but perfect amount of Sportswool and Drywool jerseys, Shutt have been quietly getting on with making excellent cycling clothes that not only fit perfectly, but also won’t leave you needing to sell a kidney to fund your purchases. I was very lucky to get my hands on one of these jerseys recently and the new PRO TEAM GILET and couldn’t find fault in either of them. The jersey in question was the Limited Edition SHUTT SPORTIVE LE. It is modeled on the classic club style of jersey and is constructed from medium weight Drywool, featuring black shoulders and torso with a white hoop, triple rear pockets and the SHUTT colour band logo. To me, it was pretty much perfect. The Gilet is pretty much exactly what I have been looking for and at only £39.99 it’s a good price too. The company has just relaunched their website with loads of new jerseys in their range along with branching into sponsorship for the new Elite Men and Women teams Orbea-For Goodness Shakes. Shutt VR’s mission is simple: to make cycling clothes stylish, comfortable and a joy to wear.
Everybody at Shutt VR rides and understands what it’s like to need good clothing whilst riding. I met Pete from the company a few weeks back and not only did he have a near perfect Bianchi he talked at length about the importance of fit, price and consistency is within the company. They source all there fabric from a British manufacturer, and make everything in Yorkshire, which is good for me when so many companies pretend to be authentic but usually aren’t with further investigation. They base their jerseys on merino wool, an extremely capable natural fibre that keeps you warm when it’s cold, cool when it’s hot and resists odors too. Its wicking capability is much greater than synthetic fibres so you never have to contend with the soggy, cold feeling that some jerseys produce. The one thing I noticed that was a significant part of why I liked their jerseys so much was the fit which I found to be much more in tune with the shape of the normal everyday rider.
So, if you want extremely well made cycling jerseys check them out, I don’t think I really need to say anymore. Their website can be found at www.shuttvr.com which includes their complete range of men’s and women’s jerseys and the new line on JUNIOR sized jersey for the kids getting into cycling. They also have a really good FACEBOOK page where things are updated regularly with features more photos and reviews of the clothes and they are on twitter too.
