Fireflies 10th Anniversary Colnago.
Last week I got a call from the Rapha Cycle Club to pop in and take a look at some special Colnagos that had just been delivered there by Colnago who had produced them in partnership with the Fireflies. Take a look at these they are truly beautiful. I knew about the fireflies but not in detail and I’ve been checking out their website and they work they do ever since I met some of them last week. Its simply amazing what they do each year and this is a beautiful way to celebrate their 10th year and to raise more money.
This Summer the Fireflies celebrate their 10th anniversary and to mark the occasion a limited edition run of Master X-Lights and EPS have been produced in collaboration with Colnago. The Rapha Cycle Club hosted the arrival of the bikes which will be taken on tour in the French Alps in a bid to raise one million pounds for the leukaemia charity, Leuka.
Ten years ago the Fireflies first climbed aboard their bicycles and rode for Leuka, a charity established to support a research and treatment unit for leukaemia at Hammersmith Hospital, London. Since then they have grown to 70 riders and have raised over £700,000 with their annual eight day tour of 1000km across the Alps, with many more clamouring to take part. This year they hope to reach the £1 million mark and founding Firefly, Chris Haworth, first came up with the idea of creating a bike to mark the anniversary. He approached Colnago and gained theirs and Ernesto Colnago’s full support, resulting in the first time that the company has designed a bike uniquely for a charity. The first run of Master X-Lights and EPS have been made for Fireflies only but more limited edition frames will be available to buy later this year, with profits going to Leuka.
A limited run of 20 frames will be available to buy. Purchase enquiries email@example.com
