Team Frezza Pasta Montegrappa UPDATE Peter-Lee Jefferies
Unlucky debut in Spain for Peter-Lee Jefferies with his South African National Team
Peter-Lee Jefferies broke again his collarbone during the third stage of the Circuite Montanes, a 2.2 UCI Tour in Spain. This is the same injury that Peter sustained in February while racing in South Africa. The injury will keep him out of action for at least 6 six weeks, which means he will miss the National Road Championships the 27th of June. It is heartbreaking that such a great opportunity for Peter has turned out to be such a painful setback. Peter will now fly to his home in Johannesburg where he will spend the recovery period while watching the Football World Cup.
The whole Team wishes Peter a speedy recovery.
Team Frezza Pasta Montegrappa at the Swedish Tour U6
The Team will fly the 3rd of July to Gothenburg to participate to the Swedish U6 Tour, a 6 stage Tour from the 5th to 10th of July. Swedish Frezza Pasta Montegrappa rider Gunnar Gronlund will be racing and his familiar environment and will certainly be one of the main contenders for the overall win. Gareth Hewitt, Oliver Graham and David Mclean will also fly to Sweden. The replacement for Peter-Lee Jefferies will soon be announced.
Gunnar Gronlund at the Swedish Road Race Championships – Gareth Hewitt and David Mclean at the British Road Race Championships
Gunnar will race both the Time Trial and Road Race in Sweden, while Gareth and David will be in Nelson (Great Britain) Sunday 27th June competing against the Elite of British Cycling, including Team Sky, David Millar and Mark Cavendish. Definitely the hardest race so far this year for the Frezza Pasta Montegrappa riders.
